This is a complete set of The Lives of the Saints, by Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould, and Anglican priest, scholar, and writer.
This is the "new and revised" edition published in Edinburgh by John Grant in 1914. Books are hard-bound, brown cloth covers with gold titles on spine. Top edges of pages are gilded. Two volumes have original dust jackets (see photo). The set includes 473 illustration (including several fold-out maps).Books are in very good condition. Bindings are generally tights (with wear typical to the age of the books). No marks or tears, and pages are bright.
Page edges have an uneven finish, as they were printed and published. The volumes are arranged according to the month of each saint's principal feast day, with each volume covering a given month. Additional photos available on request.
