This book club set is not of inferior quality. It appears to be made from the Allen & Unwin 1966 type set.The books have black cloth boards with eye device on the front covers. Text in gilt on the spine. Fellowship of the Ring: 423 pp. Orange dust wrapper with text inside a border of runes.
Dark red dust wrapper with text inside a border of runes. The Return of the King. Purple dust wrapper with text inside a border of runes. No writing or ownership marks in any of the books. Dust wrappers are near fine with some wear at the head and heels of the spine.
