The Pythagorean Tarot Book & Deck Set by John Opsopaus. The seal on the box was open on one corner so I took the seal off to check I had not been ripped off. The book is brand new. It is a first edition print run of an OOP HTF deck great for any collector. Kept in an excellent smoke free clean home.

Pythagoras is known to many as the ancient Greek mathematician who developed the theorem for right triangles. But he was also a philosopher and a magician-and one of the founders of the Western occult tradition. Since we owe a major debt to Pythagoras for our understanding of the tarot, it is only fitting that a deck has been created that is based on Pythagorean numerology. The Pythagorean Tarot unites these two major elements of Western esoterica into a unique system of divination and transformation.

While it contains the usual set of twenty-two Major Arcana and fifty-six Minor Arcana cards, the numerical sequence of the trumps is based on an older system, first used by the author. Nevertheless, the deck can be used with the conventional sequence. The symbolism and interpretations follow the traditions of alchemy and Greek esoteric philosophy. The cards feature Greek lettering, Greek and Roman deities, and ancient iconography.

In addition, there are two different dice-based systems for selecting individual Major Arcana. John Opsopaus (Tennessee) is a practicing Neopagan in the Hellenic tradition who has been an active magician and diviner for thirty years.
